Location: approx 10min North of Singhampton Ont. Continue going straight on Simcoe Rd 31/Simcoe Rd 95 meet Country Rd 124 for approx 10 min, you will come to a sharp left turn and the entrance is in the corner. There is a large green sign for the Nottawasaga Lookout.
Distance: 5km if you do the full loop.
Trail Type: a mix of well used hiking trails and boulder fields. Some scrambling over rock is required.
Directions; as you approach the trees there are two trails, one to the right and one to the left, stay on the trail to the left. Continue down the path, you will see a house in the distance on the left, the trail will come to a fork. The Crevice Caves are basically straight ahead. The easiest way to access them is to follow the trail to the right for just a few minutes, you will see a Blaze on a tree on the left and the path will lead you down into the Crevices. The entrance is a little tricky, sliding on your bum is perfectly ok! From here look for the blazes on the rock to help guide you through. The trail will take you through the crevices, across a boulder field that is a bit of a scramble and down to the “Standing Rock”, a giant boulder that broke free from the cliffs. From here the trail goes to the right along the base of the escarpment, over a stream and back up the hill. At the top you can take either trail though the one to the right will give you some great views and will lead you back to where you first entered the Crevices.
Notes: When you get into the Crevices the temp drops a few degrees so it is a good idea to bring a sweater or jacket during the warmer months. A flashlight is also recommended to be able to look into all the caves.
